We Can Help You Say Goodbye During a Crisis

Special Guidelines & Services Due to COVID-19

We are available to meet with a family who has experienced a death or chooses to conduct a service at any time.

With social distancing guidelines instituted due to the COVID-19 crisis, Southern Cremations & Funerals cannot do business “as usual.” But we have created new and adjusted ways to help families and friends come together to mourn and say goodbye to their loved ones in a meaningful way.

Southern Cremations & Funerals and our sister cemeteries are an ESSENTIAL SERVICE and will remain open and available to families 24/7 during this crisis, as we follow all precautions for COVID-19 as recommended by the CDC and National Funeral Directors Association.

Here is what we are doing to help:

  • FREE Live Streaming of all Funeral & Cremation Memorial Services so family members and friends can still participate and say goodbye from the safety of their own homes.
  • We are still conducting Traditional Funeral Services and Traditional Cremation Memorial Services with updated guidelines instituted to promote social distancing. This gives families a chance to say goodbye right now.
    • We can still conduct a Viewing or Visitation, but attendees will be limited to 50 individuals at each of our funeral chapels. Some families have chosen to rotate different groups in and out of the visitation area so more people have the opportunity to attend. This gives families a chance to say goodbye to their loved one right now. The family can then choose to schedule the actual Funeral or Memorial Service for a later date, with a priority status.
    • Families can choose to hold the Funeral Service now. Due to updated Covid-19 regulations, our large funeral chapels can now accept up to 50 attendees starting June 15. Social distancing measures will still be followed. Please ask your funeral director what the limitations may be for the chapel where you will be holding the service.
    • If a family chooses not to hold a Funeral or Memorial Service at this time, they can still utilize our Eternal Tribute Package to post an obituary on our website and create a memorial video for their loved one that can be shared through social media channels or email. This will notify family and friends of the recent death and assist them in the grieving process. We can then schedule the actual Funeral or Memorial Service for a later date, with a priority status. The obituary can be updated later with the new Funeral Service date and specifics.
  • For families choosing Cremation, we are recommending our Gathering Package which includes a Full Memorial Service – for $1,995. This package includes our Eternal Tribute Package with an online obituary, Memorial Video and DVD (which can be shared online now) and a Memorial book. The family can choose to hold the Memorial Service now or schedule the service for a later date, with a priority status. Families can also choose a beautiful urn with this package.
